1. NO YAOI FANFICS!!! Keep em straight guys.

2. Keep em interesting and update your story regularly.

3. Accept all criticism and dont argue or mock someone elses work.

4. Dont link to your work in someone elses fanfic thread. If people dont read yours it isnt good enough. so write more to bump it up.

Agree'd on the no Yaoi thing... Those are only good if they're made to make you uncomfortable, I.E game developer orgy lol
