Hi in this thread I will be giving you advice on how to kill a yian kut ku.

This is the first wyvern you encounter on MH freedom, MH freedom 2, and MH FU all on PSP and also on the PS2 version.

First things to point out are that its a fire wyvern, so its main weakness will be either WATER or ICE weapons.

So firstly. "What weapon should I use?".

Monster hunter has a variety of weapons, but because the kut ku is a small and fast wyvern. Sword and Shield, or dual blades is advised.

When encountering the Kut-ku, always attack it on its right side, as it will tail swing to the left, one of its more powerful attacks which can knock you over.

OTHER ATTACKS INCLUDE :

The fire ball.

The triple fire ball.

The charge.

The triple peck.

WHAT TO DO AGAINST THESE ATTACKS?

The fire ball is noted when it turns TWICE slowly. it will do a "taunt" where it will cluck and roar before firing off either the normal or the triple fireballs. Just keep your distance or try to get behind for some sneak attacks to be sure for a quicker kill.

The Charge attack will happen when it turns TWICE QUICKLY, it will scratch the floor before charging then will perform a charge. If you are infront be sure to block its attack, or if your not using a blocking weapon roll to the right hand side to avoid.

The triple peck is a menace and is hard to block unless using a lance. If not be sure to roll away to the RIGHT to avoid being attacked. IF you do try too block this with other weapons all your stamina will be decreased and you surely will be injured.
