Excellent defence.

Very versatile.

When used correctly is the most OP weapon in MHFU

Actually, Gun Hammers specifically, they just look so badass.


PROS: Good maneuverability, simple to learn, hard to master, very high base attack.

CONS: Leaves you vulnerable (no real defense), short hitbox (You have to get right up in the enemies face)

I started out with hammers, hated the short attack box, went to LS, still shit.

Gunlance just pwns all. Great in a group of 4 because of the overall support it gives damage wise.

Well I'm playing Tri, and there are no Gun Lances in it ;_;

They WILL be in MHP3, so that's good news.

Yeah I upgraded from hammer since I didn't try it in the demo. So I now have the great sword now but I'm not far in the game.

I'm playing Monster Hunter Tri (my first Monster Hunter game), and I'm really enjoying the Lance. I didn't feel comfortable with the SnS, and the Great Sword seemed like a weapon I'd be interested in.

Haven't tried the Hammer, Switch-Axe, Longsword, or Bowgun yet.

Yeah, I just made a Lance, called Gobula Maruka, working on upgrading it, it paralyzes monsters, which is pretty sweet (Especially for when I fight Alatreon in the future)

Are bowguns good? I need to save money for one.

only in groups of 4 gyo. Otherwise dont bother cuz they take a lot of work to master

Yeah, the only reason I ever made a Bowgun was for poisoning some Bnahabras for Bnahabra Armor. Otherwise, useless for offline.

Im a MASSIVE fan of long swords and great swords, although I have recently developed a taste for bowguns xD
Tri im still in noob gear (which is extremely depressing considering my hunter on MHFU) wearing jaggi armour Y.Y and using some kind of bone great sword. I was REALLY looking forward to using a switch axe and a long sword but I can't seem to gather the materials to unlock them, the monster essence I needed for the switch axe had to be given to the farm guy X.x

you unlock switch axe wen u complete the 4* missions im afraid =/

I beg to differ. Mine came up when I had the monster essence I gathered off a new hornetuer (cant remember name)
Would like to know how to unlock a long sword please
